Weyerhaeuser's Engineered Lumber Business (ELP) Zwolle, Louisiana Veneer Plant, has an opening for a Plant Manager. The ELP Zwolle Veneer facility is located in Louisiana, it is part of Weyerhaeuser's Engineered Lumber Products. We safely produce veneer and our primary customers are integrated Weyerhaeuser facilities. At full capacity (24/7), the plant employs approximately 250 associates. This opening is due to a retirement. We are seeking a leader with the qualifications, energy, and passion to implement our vision, strategies, and build a team of future leaders. This position reports to the ELP Manufacturing Manager.
The Zwolle mill is located in an area of Louisiana that is close to several lakes which are known for their recreational benefits, Toledo Bend Reservoir, Sibley Lake, and Cane River Lake are all located close to Zwolle. This area is truly a sportsman's paradise. Candidates will have the ability to reside in several towns located near the plant.

This leadership role will be focused on operational excellence safely producing quality Engineered Lumber Products.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of industrial management experience
Proven record of positive accomplishments in safety, quality, and production initiatives
Ability to develop and engage a high performing workforce
Ability to build leadership talent to support retention & continuous employee development
Proven record of effectively engage employees in behavior based safety techniques
Knowledge and experience in the use of statistical process control techniques
Flexible work hours are required to meet the needs of a 24/7 manufacturing environment
Experience in cost management techniques
Demonstrated ability to develop financial and operating plans and implement course of action
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The following requirements are preferred:
Bachelors degree in engineering, business or wood science preferred
Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles.
Knowledge of SAP
Experience with high performing work systems
